Religion and Medical Care

Certain radical religious parents who don't get conventional medical attention for their children have been in the news a lot recently. The Colorado legislature is voting on a bill that would eliminate a religious or exemption in criminal cases. Atheists and human rights people make a big deal about these parents who refuse aid for themselves and their children.

Personally, I don't understand this stance. If the religion wants to let natural selection kill it off, I say let it! It just nakes less resources of mine that have to go into supporting their lunacy. (Maybe I am just being reactionary to my roommate. :)

I find it interesting that these religious types in the US keep championing enforcing "Family Values" and etc. on the nation, but then when you try to enforce the nation's values on their family, they suddenly hide behind the freedom of religion argument. My religious freedom says I should see lots of real science, sex, and atheism on broadcast TV! :) (I know certain individuals will want to comment on 'real sex', so you can just skip that impulse right now. :)
