Happy Spring!

My birthday was last Sunday. Unfortunately, I didn't get anything on my Wish List Oh well :-)

I am one of a very few people who were actually born in Daylight Saving Time, but whose birthday will occur in Standard Time for as long as the current system is used. (There are some who are born in that critical week in April, but they still get to celebrate in the right time every few years.)

In 1974, due to the 'Oil Crisis', the US Congress expanded Daylight Saving Time to 10 months. This expanded past my birthday, so I was born in Daylight Saving Time. Now, DST starts in April, so my birthday is and will be in Standard Time. (My birthday also happens to occur on the day before Standard Time Act was enacted - on 1918 March 19)

and people wonder why I want to abolish DST (and time zones in general, but don't get me started on that...) :-)
